These days it seems like there is a highly paid expert for everything that we used to do ourselves.  Seriously, when did weddings start needing a planner? After all there are two highly involved  (unusually more than critical) mothers who are in most cases everything you need to keep the wedding I’s dotted and the T’s crossed.  Things have gotten mad in the wedding department and more couples today are opting to start their lives out of debt rather than throwing a huge princess style wedding and paying for it until they die.

My first piece of advice to brides looking to explore the internet for cheap wedding supplies is to get a really good wedding planning book that you can keep as sort of a journal, and make it public domain.  Sure, your mom is a domineering, outdated, controlling pain in the butt, but she is also your mom and no one wants your wedding dream to come true for you as badly as she does, so let her help.  If she is paying for it, you have to take her opinion into account. It is not fair to have her pay for it and not care enough to let her have a say in the matter.

Look for rental facilities that have everything you need. You will likely save money by going to one supplier for things like napkins and tablecloths.  Get all of the tables, chairs, and everything else from your reception hall if you can. You don’t need to buy them you only need to rent them for a day.  Getting wedding supplies such as those for the cake early is a good idea as well. You will spot all sorts of things online everywhere from EBay to Amazon. Anything you notice, buy early and keep it handy.

Cheap wedding supplies are everywhere offline too. Many second hand stores carry these items because, after all, they only get used once. These are a great place to find wonderful items in great shape for an amazing price.  Don’t forget the gifts for your bridesmaids – have a look for affordable jewelry in their birthstones. Heirloom jewelry can be found anywhere, and a cameo is a nice classy memento if you have the cash.  Also keep your eyes peeled for affordable honeymoon items; after all, it’s not just the wedding you have to think about!
